First English edition of Sparrman’s voyage. The Swedish original was published under the title “Resa till Goda Hopps-Udden… Stockholm 1783-1818. This account of Cook’s second voyage describes his travels inland from the settlement at the Cape of Good Hope and as an assistent to naturalist Johann Forster on board the Resolution between September 1772 and March 1775.
